I'm Steve Baer and I've been a Seattle firefighter since 1997.  In that time I've worn a lot of different fire helmets.

Along the way I realized I'm just a total nerd for a few things: photography, animals, National Parks, and firefighting.  Luckily all of those worlds overlap more than you'd think.  

One of my best jobs with Seattle Fire was as an arson dog handler with my K9 partner Henny.  We traveled all over the Pacific Northwest investigating fires together.  If you can imagine a real life, slightly less goofy version of Scooby-Doo, that was us.  Long days with muddy boots and paws.  It was good work.

Henny passed at 14 but she is now the mascot inside my logo, a tribute to the good dog she always was.
